The Mestalla Stadium hosted an emotional tribute to Jesús de Miguel. Valencia and Real Madrid joined the initiative of all Spanish football to honor the C.D. Tenerife player, who passed away on November 3.

Players from both teams took to the field wearing special jerseys with the number 9, the number worn by Jesús de Miguel, and the phrase “Always in our memory.” Following a floral offering, they formed a semicircle at the center of the pitch, and after a rousing ovation from Mestalla, a minute of silence was observed.

After the match began, the referee paused the game in the 9th minute. Mestalla’s video scoreboard displayed a tribute video featuring images of Jesús de Miguel, and the entire stadium gave a heartfelt ovation before play resumed. The players from Real Madrid and Valencia wore black armbands.
